FAQ

Everything you'd rather not have to ask.

Straight answers, so you can show up relaxed before the massage even starts.

Is this discreet?

Yes, it's built in, not an afterthought. Sessions happen in a private studio with no shared waiting room, no front desk, and nobody to run into. Booking is over Instagram DM, payment is cash, Venmo, or Zelle, and your name and information are never shared with anyone. Many of my clients are private about their lives; that is always respected here, no questions asked.

Who is this massage for?

All men. The studio is gay-owned and most of my clients are gay, bi, or discreet men, so you'll never have to explain or filter yourself here (more on that on the gay & M4M massage page). But every man is welcome: straight, curious, out, private, big, lean, young, older, athlete or desk warrior, local or visiting.

If you're a man with a body that works hard, this massage is for you.

I've never had a professional massage. What happens?

You'll be walked through everything, and there's nothing to perform. You arrive, we chat for a minute about how your body feels and what you want out of the session. You undress in private to your own comfort level and lie on a warmed table under a sheet. Draping is adjusted the way you're comfortable.

Then the only job you have for the next hour is to breathe and let go. Talk if you feel like it; most men go quiet after ten minutes.

How deep is the pressure? Will I be sore?

The method is deep tissue your body accepts: firm, focused pressure on the areas that need repair, worked up to gradually so you never brace against it, and slower relaxing strokes everywhere else. I check in on pressure throughout.

You may feel worked the next day after a very deep session, the way a good training day feels, but not bruised or beaten up. That's the difference from pure sports massage.

Where is the studio?

The studio is in Kalorama, in Northwest DC, minutes from Dupont Circle and easy to reach by Metro or rideshare from downtown, Logan Circle, Adams Morgan, and the convention center area. The exact address comes with your booking confirmation, which keeps the space private for everyone.

Why is booking only through Instagram?

Because it keeps things simple and private for both of us. No booking platform holding your card, no phone number floating around, no paper trail you didn't choose. A DM lets you ask anything before you commit, and the reply comes from me, not a front desk.

It also lets me keep the studio private: the address goes only to confirmed bookings, which every client here appreciates.

Why no photos of you or your clients?

Discretion goes both ways. Many of my clients are private about their lives, and I extend myself the same courtesy. Nobody pictured on this site is a client; the images set the mood of the studio rather than document real sessions.

What you get in person is exactly what the site describes: a private room in Kalorama, real pressure, genuine care, and no audience. Ask me anything you want in the DM first; I answer directly.

How do I book, and how fast can I get in?

DM @dlmassage.dc on Instagram with your preferred day and session length (30, 60, or 90 minutes). I'll reply with real available times, often the same day, including evenings and weekends. Once you confirm, you get the address. That's the whole process.

What should I do before and after?

Before: nothing special. Come as you are. Straight from the gym is fine, and a shower is available at the studio. Try not to eat a heavy meal right before.

After: drink water, take it easy if you can. If we went deep, give the muscles a day before your next hard training session.

Is this a legitimate professional massage?

Yes. This is professional therapeutic bodywork: deep tissue, sports recovery, and relaxation massage for men, delivered with skill and care in a comfortable, judgment-free space. Comfortable and welcoming for gay men, and professional for everyone.

Enough questions. Come feel it.

Just ask. The DMs are open, and no question is a dumb question.
